I have a year old fixed male cat who is very well-loved and well-cared for, probably even a little spoiled :)
But there's a slight problem: he sits at the front door all day crying loudly to go outside. He only does it during the day. I can't let him out, because i live in a city and he was declawed before i got him. My other cat, a four-year-old female doesn't do it.
This has become quite a problem since i work 3rd shift and sleep during the day. Anyone have any suggestions on how i can get him to stop?

I had this problem at one point. Give him a window to sit in. If this isn't an option or if it doesn't work then try some new toys. Something exciting that will take his mind off of it. Trust me in this. This to will pass :) He's going through a teenager faze. He wants to see new things.

That's definately a tough one. I have a male siamese who does the same thing. Fortunately I can let him out. In your case though I can understand the dillemma. I have to agree with the person who said give him a window to look out. They make window seats that attach to your windo for cats...or even put a comfy chair near a window so he can climb up, sit down and look out. Or get him toys to preoccupy him. Heck, I have a tabby that will sit in front of a t.v. for a while. It may not immediately solve the problem, and I know ignoring him is really hard to do...but sometimes it has to be done. I don't like to let my siamese out in bad weather...he crys loudly, especially when I'm trying to sleep...but if I ignore him long enough he pouts, huffs, and jumps up in bed and lays down with me...

You might be able to get him to sleep during the day if you make the room as dark as possible and slip a little bag of cat nip inside a sleeping mat. They sell sleeping mats that have a special opening for this, or you could probably make your own set-up by slipping a mat and the bag of cat nip inside a pillowcase.

This won't satisfy his desire to go outside, but it might get him on the same sleeping schedule that you're on, and then maybe you could take him outside on a leash when you get home from work.

I would ignore him -- which I know is tough, because you are trying to sleep. Have you considered earplugs? I have had similar issues with my cats, trying to wake me up to pet them or feed them, etc. In the end the things that worked were closing my bedroom door, putting in earplugs, or squirting them with a plant sprayer (when they got on the bed and tried to wake me up).

Good luck - this is a frustrating problem!

I'm not sure, you can get a large dog crate and put a litter box in there and put him in there though he may still cry in there, not sure what else to tell you, maybe call the vet and see if they have any other suggestions.
