Yes. Just like humans dogs can suffer from problems caused by the heat. Letting them into the cool house can really help.

The basement is a good place in a house for them to be since it is usually the coolest place in a house.

Yes BUT....do not bring him inside and cool him down and then put him back outside while it's still stinking hot. Wait until it's cooled down a bit outdoors. You know how hard the heat hits YOU when you go out after being in air conditioning.

Yes, you should let the dog in. Even with dog houses and plenty of water, dogs can still die of heat stroke. When you do put your dog back outside, make sure that you change the water and add some ice cubes. That will keep the water cooler longer and help the dog stay cooler. Even if he is to stay outside, make sure that you check his water throughout the day and if needed, added ice.

By all means let the dog inside. You can use a baby gate to restrict the dog to the kitchen. There is also the option of putting a portable a/c unit in the dog house.

Oh God yes! Your outside dog could die in this weather. Plus he really wants to be part of a pack and it is cruel to leave him alone outside.

Absolutely nothing bad will happen to the dog by being kind and letting it cool off.

If you are worried about damage to your furniture or carpets, KNow this. It should be a breeze to housetrain an adult dog. Be sure to offer plenty of opportunities to go outside for potty breaks on a regular schedule and never punish him for accidents. His accidents are YOUR fault for not knowing he needed to go out.

To keep the legs of furniture or the arms of sofas from being damaged, make sure if your dog still likes to chew that you offer plenty of fun toys and change them often.

And know that letting your dog come inside and learn to be a member in good standing of your family will only INCREASE your enjoyment of your pet.

YES, it is concidered animal abuse if you don't. How would you like to be left out in the heat all day long. Dogs gets hotter than humans. Also keep him/her plenty of water when it is hot.
I Give my dogs ice water when it is hot. It is also amimal abuse if you don't keep him plenty of water.Your dog will love you if you bring him/her in out of the heat in an air conditioned room with some ice water to drink.

Of course it is they say not to leave your animals outside when it is to hot and if you must leave them outside make sure they have alot of shade, a kids pool (for him/her to cool off in (even if your dog doesnot like water it will get in the pool if it is to hot)) and plently to drink.

Of course it is okay.....What I usually do is let my outside dogs in, but I use a pet gate and keep them in the laundry room so they don't use the bathroom on the carpet or mark my furniture.

Of course it is. This allows cool air to get under his coat and will help him to keep cool, if only for a little while, when he goes back outside.
Why not take this time to housetrain him and let him stay in all the time?

Dogs also need to cool down in extremely hot weather. Let your dog in to cool off.
