Acute Herpatitis B is caused by a virus that infects the liver. If you have this disease, your blood, either fresh or dried, is highly contagious during the four to six weeks before the symptoms of the disease appear and for a short time afterwards.Symptoms include jaundice is the most obvious one, but it does not occur in every case. Others include weakness, loss of appetite, nausea, brownish urine, whitish bowel movements, and abdominal discomfort.

Have you been diagnosed with Hep B? There can be tenderness on the right side under the ribs this usually means that the liver is enlarged. Not necessarily that damage is being done. Don't try to guess go to a gastroentologist theres a simple blood test to determine if you have HepB and what the viral load is, the higher the viral load the more damage is being done.

Treatment:
Acute hepatitis needs no treatment other than careful monitoring of liver function, by measuring serum transaminases and prothrombin time.
In rare cases of liver failure, the patient should be monitored in an intensive care unit. Because liver damage decreases the liver's ability to degrade proteins, the patient's protein intake should be restricted. Also, oral lactulose or neomycin should be administered (to limit protein production by bacteria in the gut). Patients should be monitored until they recover or until a liver transplant appears necessary. A liver transplant is the only definitive cure in cases of liver failure.
Treatment of chronic hepatitis is geared towards reducing inflammation, symptoms, and infectivity. Treatment options include interferon (administered by injection) as well as lamivudine and adefovir dipivoxil (administered orally). Liver transplantation is used to treat end-stage chronic hepatitis B liver disease.

It may not be the liver or gallbladder at all, it would be a problem with the ribs themselves. Ribs can get inflammated and cause pain and it's not a serious condition.
If you do think it's the liver, do you have jaundice (is your skin and your eyes yellow)? That's an easy symptom to know if the liver is sick. Your liver can get sick for many reasons, not just Hep B virus.

yours is a very vague question,Pain in rt. side of lower chest may be due to swelling in the liver, it does not mean Hepatitis B, this disease is a viral involvement of liver. source of virus being the infected blood. virus may involve one due to infected injection needle ,blood transfusion, or any blood to blood contact only ,.not by any other source, it is if once happens to affect a person it is quite serious, Mortality rate being very high that is why it is advised that one must get vaccinated for hepatitis A as well B, HepatitisA is not so serious to worry about, it damages the liver but mostly not fatal.

Pain could come from a multitude of issues. Yes, you may have an infection. Your liver may not be properly functioning. It is really hard to say what it could be with just pain. Yes, the location you explained is where your liver is, but your gallbladder is there also. You should consult a doctor so that he/she can have the proper tests ordered to figure out what is causing your pain.
