There's a few options. You could go to Internet Movie Database (imdb.com) if they are movie stars. You could probably find them in Wikipedia (wikipedia.com). You could also call or email your local library and they could get you the answers right away out of their encyclopedias and biographies.

This is usually found in their biography. Most famous people have biography's on the web. You can search Google by name of person, example: "Mark Twain" biography
