Leviticus 18:22 "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination."

Is abomination confusing to you? Here's a definition so we can clarify what this passage truely means and settle this once and for all:

a-bom-i-na-tion: n. 1. Abhorrence; disgust. 2. A cause of abhorrence or disgust.

It seems clear to me that this disgusting act is very clearly commanded as a sin in the Bible. How can you argue with fact? The dictionary even says it is "A cause of abhorrence or disgust."

So many gays are intolerant and closed minded that they cannot see the clear truth in front of them.

I've had sexual relations with a woman, but I repented of my sin and confessed and will not turn back! I am able to see the truth in front of my eyes. Are you?

Oh goody! Leviticus!!

So tell me, when is the last time you participated in ritual animal sacrifice as described in Lev 12?

Had any pork lately? (Lev 11:7) What about shellfish? (Lev 11:10-12)

Killed anyone for cursing their parents? (Lev 20:9) How about put adulterers to death? (Lev 20:10) I notice Jim Bakker and Jimmy Swaggart are still hanging around, how'd you manage to miss those?

And Gods forbid you should be near a man while you're menstruating... (Lev 20:18)

All of these things are very clearly stated in the Bible, in the exact same chapter that you quoted. As you put it, "How can you argue with fact?"

It's not confusing. Intelligent people understand what "abomination" means. The dictionary does not say that homosexuality is "a cause of abhorrence or disgust". That definition applies to "abomination". Just because the Bible says homosexual behavior is an abomination doesn't mean everybody else agrees with the Bible. That's how people can argue with it.

I wonder if you are indeed able to see the whole truth in front of your eyes. Jesus' last command to his disciples was "love one another." How is calling gays "intolerant and close minded" fulfilling this command?

It is clear. So is the passage about the sin offering you need to make. Did you do that?

Leviticus 4:27-31 - Sin Offering

1. Bring a female goat without defect to the priest.
2. Lay your and on the head of the goat and slaughter it.
3. The priest will take some of the blood with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar and poor the rest of the blood at the base of the altar.
4. The priest will remove all the fat and burn it on the altar as an aroma pleasing to the Lord.
5. In this way, the sin will be forgiven.

just because the bible says it is an abomination doesnt make it fact! the bible is written by man. even if it were written at the command of god, men wrote it, so there are going to be false words in it. also, they are not being closed minded, rather they are accepting what they cannot change and moving on.

i dont understand what the big deal is anyway. would you rather have a nice, clean, quiet gay couple living next door to you or a loud, beer swilling, partying straight couple? (i am not making generalizations here, just giving an example)

the quality of ones character should be way more important than what they do in bed!

also, i can think of a lot worse things to be than gay, like a rapist, murderer, or prejudiced. just let people be themselves and stop picking on others.

remember in kindergarten when teachers would say, no tattling, u worry about you, and let him worry about him. until you are perfect and have no sins, you may not complain about others.

PREACH IT SISTA!

::blush::

I've always wanted to say that. Hehehehe....
But NOT anyplace where it would have significance, mind you!
(BTW, the original 'Julia' DOES have good command of the English lanaguage, an area in which you sorely lack.)

Best Wishes!

PS: Leviticus was nothing more than a "survival manual" for a culture on the edge of extinction. Look a little more closely, happycheeks and you'll .... oh, never mind. You WON'T understand. Just trust me on this one okay, hunee?

PPS: If *you* REALLY bought 'The Law' as THE law, you wouldn't be so outspoken (as a female, that is). And I'm guessing you're wearing a polyester/cotton blend of some type of clothing as well. I could go on, but my pizza just arrived.

1) The Old Testament also says that eating shellfish is an abomination. Therefore homosexual behavior is on a par with a dinner at Red Lobster, morally speaking.

2) What does laying with a man as one does with a woman mean? Men don't have vaginas. Gay men don't normally sleep with women. Generally, moral conservatives don't approve of heterosexual oral and anal sex.

3) The verse you quoted does not in any way condemn lesbian activity.

It is true that both the bible and I believe that it is abhorrent and disgusting for heterosexual people to engage in homosexual behavior. It takes a very special kind of perversion to get people to go against their sexual orientation.

I sure am glad that you took the time to explain all that to me. The other couple thousand religious nuts that explained it just didn't get through to me.

Are you aware of how silly you sound demanding that everybody think, believe, and behave like you do?

If you believe that homosexuality is an abomination,

don't engage in homosexual behavior.

What do I have to do with that?

People today are too arrogant to believe that there could possibly be a higher more holy presence then they. Those people tend to bash and not believe the teaching of the Bible, or certain parts of teh Bible because it doesn't fit their way of life. It is getting worse and worse. It makes me feel we are in the begining of the end times and now is the time to be at peace with our Lord God, if we never have before.

"Then you will be arrested, persicuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers."
Matthew 24:9 NLT

Stick in there, and remain strong in faith for our Lord!

Im not sure that they confuse the verse, I think its that Christians tend to think that is an unforgiveable sin or more of a sin than the sins they (christians) commit daily. OR that it is a sin they have to stop before they can be saved (unlike most other sins) I seriously dont think gays say the Bible doesnt say it, but they reject it because Christians focus on it more than most other sins with the same conciquences.

Sweetheart - not everyone believes the bible is 100% for real. You are using YOUR BOOK and YOUR BELIEFS and asking US why we don't agree.

I can write a book also. I could put a passage in my book that says everyone has to give me 10% of what they earn - if I write this book and send you the quote from it will you obey that rule? NO - why - because you would not believe in my book.

The bible says a lot of crazy things - like the world was made in a day, we can prove it took many millions of years to create the Earth.
