The Catholic Church officially teaches:

When she delves into her own mystery, the Church, the People of God in the New Covenant, discovers her link with the Jewish People, "the first to hear the Word of God.

The Jewish faith, unlike other non-Christian religions, is already a response to God's revelation in the Old Covenant.

To the Jews "belong the sonship, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises; to them belong the patriarchs, and of their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ"; "for the gifts and the call of God are irrevocable."

Neither all Jews indiscriminately at that time, nor Jews today, can be charged with the crimes committed during the Passion of Jesus Christ. The Jews should not be spoken of as rejected or accursed as if this followed from Holy Scripture.

With love in Christ.

Everyone is accountable for their actions regardless of weather they can be called sinful or not. Now...so far as the Jews go they're the chosen people, right? What you ask were they chosen for? They were chosen to suffer for the sins of humanity...and if you're referring to the war in the ME just look at the 60 years of suffering at the hands of their neighbors that Israel has had to endure. Look at the history of the reilgion and see how persecuted and reviled it is. Yes, the Jews sin too, but in the end they're the supposed gatekeepers for heaven. PEACE!

Hey! that little episode with the cow cost them greatly!!! Moses had a really good set of tablets to give them... but instead he broke them and went back up for "the lesser law"... the 10 commandments.

Everyone is accountable for the sin they have committed unless they have the forgiveness of the Lord to cover the sins.

I can't judge...it is up to God> It is not just the Jews, but ALL of us have failed God and worshipped other things before God> money, sex, drugs, cars, sports, etc. This can be considered "idols" also, because most of the time we focus our energy on them instead of God, which should be first in our lives. peace.

We are all answerable for our sins, except those who receive Christ and accept His forgiveness for our sins.
