zucchini is a type of squash. There is not much difference between the yellow squash and the zucchini. The main difference is that a yellow squash will tend to get a rounded end as it grows bigger, the zucchini will stay long. If you are cooking with a yellow squash you may want to remove the seeds since there are more seeds typically in a yellow squash than in a zucchini.

I prefer the taste of zucchini when making dishes...I think squash really has NO taste when you cook it up, but there is something about the zucchini...can't tell ya what, but I just like it better..Go with the zucchini.

Each type of squash has a different taste. Sounds like you are using a recipe that you can alter to adjust to your taste. Zucchini is one of the milder versions. If you are not a regular squash eater, you might need to just experiment with the different varieties until you find the one(s) you like.

Isn't zucchini a type of squash? If you mean the difference between summer squash (looks like yellow zucchini) and zucchini, then no, the taste is very similar. I like zucchini better because they're sweeter, in my opinion.

Zucchini is a type of squash. There are many different kinds of squash. Some have no flavor, some have a buttery flavor, some have a sweet flavor. A simple way to make squash to see what kinds you may like is buy several types of squash, cut them in half lengthwise, take out the seeds if they're large, season them with olive oil, salt and pepper and roast them in the oven. 350-375 until done. Try a little of each one to see which ones you like and which ones you don't like.

Yeah. Squash is usually yellow, and shaped like a light bulb. Zucchini is long and straight and usually green.
