I seem to recall that back in the late sixties one of the Beatles said "We're more famous and Jesus Christ." I heard it in their movie "A Hard Day's Night." The whole teen world all over the world burned their phonograph records in bon fires and ever since then, their sales, popularity, and fame plummeted and never recovered.
