... Well, it depends on what winning would consist of: if killing thousands of Lebanese is any measure.. then Israel is winning.. they are doing a fine job of murder. If it is rated by how many Hezbolah they have captured or put out of business.. you bet they are losing... but it is all worth it to them. I heard some ambassodor or something from Israel speak the other day and his answer to why so many deaths, was, " In war there has to be death" Wonder if all those poor innocent Jews who died in the holocaust would agree with that?

I hope more people read your question (great question by the way)
and I hope they seriously consider what's at stake not only in this battle but in everything that is happening around us lately.
Did someone turn up the hatred knob all of a sudden ?
This conflict, just like all the others happening around the world have no winners. The decisions that are being made by governments around the globe concerning this conflict are affecting us all.
I left Beirut Lebanon in 1983 as a young Marine and I can honestly tell you that almost nothing has changed in regards to the hatred amungst the different religions and ethnic groups. How can anyone possibly declare a victory when their citizens are lying dead all over the cities ?

I have another question for you - Why don't you ever see headlines like: Hezbollah fires missiles from within civilian sector? Hezbollah fires missiles at civilian targets? Or how about Hezbollah have lost ___ soldiers in the fight?
I will tell you why - terrorists go to school to learn how to fight a propaganda war. They know that firing missiles from a civilian sector is a win win scenario. If Israel doesn't fire at them to protect civilians, then they can freely continue shooting. If Israel does fire at them, then they can bring their cameras, show bodies, and burned buildings and show the world the damage that "Israel has caused" - and they know that all the news organizations will play right along with their sick game. They don't have to win logistically, all they have to do is win the propaganda war - and the public will punish Israel for their "unjust" war.
So, congratulations - like the little monkey at the carnival - the terrorists keep playing their music, and you keep dancing.

As the person said above, "war takes time". Even after several years of fighting our own military, being the most powerful in the world, still hasn't been able to completely destroy Al Qaeda -- although we have nearly completely crippled their infrastructure. Israel is by no means losing this war, the ground offensive has barely even started. A believed this war is probably going to take at least several months, but I'm quite sure that Israel will be victorious in it.

You cant win a war in 23 days, Hezbolla started off w/ hundreds of mortar/missle launches a day and after these 23 days are down to less than 10 a day..Israel is winning, no doubt. And they will continue winning

Israel is one of the best armies in the world ! and they are going to destroy them like they did in 1967 war when they destroyed Syria,Egypt,Jordan,Lebanon and even Iraq's armies in 6 days!!!
Today it's take time because they try not to hit civilians.
You probably listen to the terrorists radio station... but it's not going to help you.
GOD BLESS AMERICA AND ISRAEL!

Are they loosing? No. Are they winning? No. War seldom has either clear winners or losers - just dead people and squandered resources. History teaches this; but the only thing we learn from history is that people don't learn anything from history.

It ain't over till it's over! The Jewish people won't give up OR give in. Israel is a land that has symbolized strength because of it's past. I hope her people are as strong as her past!
