We've been dating for 5 months. A month ago I realized I am falling in love with him, he is awesome..I didn't want to bark out "I love you" at 4 months, it is kind of soon. I figured I'll wait to tell him for a few months make sure I still feel the same. Last night we had a date it was very nice like always,just enjoying each others company, hanging out at his place. He tells me how crazy he is about me and he shows it to by being very affectinate, in public and private, last night was no exception. At a certain point during the night, all cuddling up to each other, I say it "I love you". Saying it because I felt it and wanted to tell him so, not because I wanted to hear it back. He didn't say it back, but instead says how much he cares, he says everything except "I love you". I didn't mind thinking he just isn't ready for that, and told him I didn't expect for him to say it just because I did.Today I am upset at myself. Did I say it too soon will it scare him off? Opinions please.

I think the FIRST person to say that in any relationship is scared of saying it and if it isn't said back for whatever reason, then you feel like you made a fool of yourself. You aren't the first and not the last to feel that way. You have to remember too, there are people out there who have a lot of trouble saying those words. My ex was like that. He never said it - ever. At the same time, he wasn't raised with all the love/hugs, etc. the same as I was so it was awkward for him. Don't worry about it. Sounds like this guy really likes you and possibly love --- just let him say it the next time. Maybe he wanted to say it first too. You would have NO WAY of knowing that though so don't worry!!!!

Naw you didnt say it too soon. i mean you said it cause you felt it. you cant change the past. he probably do love you too cause he was saying how much he cares about you he might just dont know for 4sho if he loves you yet like how you is with him. give him some time. i bet when he says he loves you, you will wanna cry. lol

only time will tell, if he starts distancing himself from the relationship, then you know his was freaked by it, if he goes on as normal, then he just wasnt ready to say it, all you did was say how you feel, it doesnt mean you have to pressure him into anything, so he should be ok with it.
