I am 27 year old mother of 2 year old girl. My daughter is smart, pretty, playful, and everything you like in a child. while i have a brother, my husband is the only son. and there is a definite difference in our personalities, when it comes to sharing..be it sharing of materials, or emotions. I'm perfectly ok with my only child, but am concerned if she will miss that companionship which a sibling offers. Although money is not much of a concern, but will i be able to afford the best for both my kids. i was working from home till now, so i spent a lot of time with my daughter in her infancy, but now i am working full time..will i be doing injustice with my second kid, if i bring him/her in the world. None of the other relatives around my age have a second offspring. So if i do, will it look like i did it for want of a boy? There is no pressure on me from my parents, in-law's, and husband..its just I am in two minds.
What do you have to say?

If you want another child and can care for it go ahead and have another one! My son is an only child and he is 8 and if he had a brother or sister he would have been so much happier cause he is constantly craving to be social. In that way we clash cause i'm more of an introvert and need me time where he always needs to talk with someone and interact. I think tho it depends on the personality of the child too. But go with what you and your husband want.

I think only children are sad, everyone should have a sibling to share life with. No one else in the world will have the same memories or life experiences as they will. Go for one more! My grandson is 5 and probably won't have any siblings until he's quite a bit older, if at all, and I think he really needed a sibling, he's so lonely, and he doesn't have any cousins or neighbors to play with.

a second child is always good. being an only child can be a plus but can also be lonely later in life. But don't have another one if you can't afford another. Plus if you think you have enough love to share for two.

This is a choice only you and your husband should make. In my experience though having two is alot better than just having one. They play with each other and help one another, and they have each other, which isnt so lonely for them. But like i said its your decision. If you want another baby go for it, your life will adjust when the baby is born. Good luck, and take care.

The world can't deal with the burden of another child. Your daughter is better off making a close friend that can be a virtual sister.

had 5 children would not change it for anything. later on in life you can look back and remember all the good times and a few of the bad...till this day the kids still get along with each other ...go for the second

If you can afford another, why not. Then you child will always have a playmate. Believe me, when she gets a little older, she will always want some one to play with. Mine's seven, I know.

If money is not a proble, I say yes. Growing up with a sibling is fun, because if you don't you will never know what it is like.
