Okay, my aunt is going to give birth anytime now and her and her huband have many arguments about what to name them. My uncle is bhuddist and my aunt is a christian, so there's a a lot of disagreements. My uncle wants to name one of them nirvana, but my aunt doens't like it becuase she doesn't "believe" in it. So he decided their names should be nirvana and neveah (heaven spelled backwords) Because they both want their children to have the same frist letter in their name, but my aunt doesn't like the idea of heaven bieng spelled backwords. I think the names are so cute and unique, aunt thinks their names are going to be their religion for some reason, and whats nirvana anyways?

To my understanding nirvana is the state of complete enlightenment. It's what Buhdist's work their entire lives to obtain. Actually there was a report on the news a couple of months ago about the name neveah. Apparently a while back some singer decided to name his kid that. The next year a lot of other people wanted to name their kids that as well, so don't think he's being origional. I don't see anything wrong with those names, i just wouldn't name my kids anything like that. The parents need tokeep in mind how the kids may feel about their names while growing up. You know how kids are. They can be mean. I feel sorry for the kid of one of my class mates. She named her daughter Justice. You can't tell me that she's not going to be made fun of when she grows up. It's really none of anyones else's business but theirs, but if you must put in your two cents then you may want to mention the point I just brought up. You don't want the twin growing up being made fun of.

I think they are taking this name thing too seriously.. i mean yeah, it will be cute when they're little, but seriously, think about their future, would you really want to be named Nirvana? There friends might think your aunt and uncle are a bit obsessed with a band...like seriously.. & i don't think they necessarily should have the same first letter, thats a taking it a bit too far there... Why not normal names? I mean sure, it's good to be unique, but those names are a bit ridicouous.. .I am a twim myself, and our naes are Megan and Patrick.. pretty normal i think.. I don't think there religon should have tpo be such a big thing that it cuases them to argue over such sillyness... i mean, it is a just a name, and i do understand its a big deal, but i definetly do not like Nirvana and neveah (how do you pronounce that) ... It's good to be unique, but i'd much rather like to see these too youngins grow up o have unique personalities, instead of unique names.

Why don't you get them to buy a baby boko and pick out names togather, normal names.. i really don't think they should let there relgions be invovled in the process of naming their children. Really, i mean its easy enouigh to find too suitable names with the same letter.. it doesn't matter what relgion or background the name is, it is what it means is it not?

well, how about;
Taylor / Tyler
Emily / Ethan
Parker / Payton
Brian / Brianna
Landon / logan

there anems that start with the same letter, and some can be used for either both or girl, and some of those names are unique, in a good way.. personally myself i like parker and landon, which and be used for either gender.. well good luck to you, and be sure to let us know how this all lets up.

Nirvana is kind of like an ideal heaven, I think--a "perfect" world. I think sticking the kids with those names is a BAD idea, but I realize people will do whatever they want to. I hope at least that they give them reasonable middle names to fall back on!

Those are cute names. Religion doesn't matter on the children name a name is a name. And nirvana is the want of nothing

How about Yin and Yang? Sorry, couldn't resist.

I don't really like Nirvana or Nevaeh. Still, that's just my opinion. I hope your aunt and uncle resolve their differences, not only about the names but also about how they're going to raise their children. It sounds like there's trouble ahead!

Remember....cute little babies become adults...they have to live with those names for the rest of their lives. Cute names...for a dog or cat...not for a human.

What about neutral names....like Stephanie/Stephan, Vickie, Julie...if the mother just has to use a christian name Christine is a nice name.

If my parents named me any word backwards, I'd be pretty pissed... much less 'heaven' since you have no idea if the kid will end of Christian or not. Besides, how awkward would it be later in life when one kid is named after the father's religion and the other after the mother's? ...better hope they don't fight much! Maybe they should go for something less divisive.

I do not like the names and would certainly suggest choosing names with different first letters to save confusion later

I don't care for the names. Suggest that they name the children something that they can spell and pronounce before they are ten.

Wow, awfully long story for "What's nirvana?"
It was an awesome band from the nineties. You might remember it. The lead singer committed suicide.
