ok, first of all you need to dip it's beak into the water and make sure it drinks. It should have water available at all times. It needs to be kept warm but not too warm. About 90 degrees for the first couple days. A low watt heat lamp works well. Your local feed store sells chick starter. This food is perfect for the little guy. set him on top of a little pile of it and he'll figure out it's food. He's not going to stop cheeping, he's a chick, that's what they do. but you can try making it dark and he may go to sleep. If he can't hear anything else around him he may fall asleep out of boredom. Your local feed store should be able to give you better care instructions than this. They will also be able to give you the products that will help you keep your chick healthy like immunizations. Best of luck!!
ps. I wouldn't give it grain or popcorn or rice until it is much older. It's gullet is not developed enough to digest those foods, it needs baby chicken food. Chick starter is the best thing for it right now.

When I raised youngster chicks, I modified their bedding a few times every week, or every time it used to be soiled. Also be certain you could have a warmness lamp on them, to preserve them hot. There's additionally a few powdered stuff you'll placed of their water (take a look at a regional feed retailer) to support preserve them from getting sicknesses. You might be competent to inform if they're boys or ladies after they develop slightly older, the men gets greater combs and tackle a a lot more 'chicken' look, you are going to be competent to inform, believe me. When they're adults, be certain they have got a secure location to be. If it's freelance within the backyard, be certain that no puppies, cats, and so on (ordinarily simply puppies) can damage them throughout the day, and it is well to place them in at night time, given that owls, hawks, and different diverse animals can prey on chickens relatively simply. Good success! Have amusing...I love chickens!!

I had chickens when I was younger, so I think I can help.

We put mine in an old bird cage (I think we put some newspaper on the bottom) with some water and fed it corn bread mix. If you don't have a cage for it, then I would lay down some newspaper and put a heat lamp over it to keep the chick warm. Give it some water and corn bread mix to eat. Don't scare it, because it may have a heart attack and die. Pick it up and stroke it gently, and maybe it will calm down.

Good luck!

you need to go to a feed store and buy a feeder and a water container for it. they also sell baby chick feed. baby chickens can start eating on their own fairly early. the feed is fairly inexpensive and will last you a long time.

I'ts chirping because it's scared and want's it's mother. Try feeding it really small peices of bread, cooked up rice(break up the rice peices into smaller peices), or any soft leftover foods(break those foods down for it too.) That's what I did for my chickens. Don't forget water.
