It depends on what you are feeding him. milk will cause runny stools, as will corn based kibble..If it is more than 5 times in a day, he needs to see the vet...he would benefit from a vet visit anyway, to be de-wormed..that too causes runny stools..Nearly ALL puppies are born with worms, and need to be treated at least 3 times. it isn't expensive..my vet uses the spot-on-skin stuff Revolution..it gets rid of all parasites, and costs $13.....
to firm up hi stools, bring a cup of milk to a barely boil..allow to cool a minute, and skin off the film on top...then you can give this to your puppy..about 2 tablespoons 3 times per day for a small breed, up to 1/4 cup for a large breed..

No - it is not normal.
You will want to feed your puppy a bland diet to get his/her belly better...not so upset.
There are a couple of things that you can do...
1 - put appx. 1 tablspoon of Plain Pumpkin in his food 1 time a day. This will firm up the stool (I did this with my dog when I switched her from Iams to Innova - it worked like a charm)
2 - if it is really bad and is not going away, you may want to feed a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice. Probably for a day or two until the poops become firmer...then slowly add the kibble again.
Just boil a couple of chix. breasts in a pot and then I used the water from boiling to make the plain white rice.
Just break off little pieces of the chix and give about a cup or so to the pup.
However - Make sure that there are no parasites or anything wrong w/ him/her.
If the pup is healthy, this should do the trick.

When a new pup goes to a new home, the stress can sometimes make his poo runny.
More likely is that you are feeding him something other than what he got at his other home. A change in diet can upset his tummy.
Another real possibility is worms. Take a stool sample to the vet and have it checked for worms.

Your puppy is that trained enough to use the toilet? My God, are you a good trainer or what? LOL
Seriously, I think it is what you feed him and the fact that, during hot months like this, he is going to have runny sh!t. Humans have this problem when it is too hot. It is your body telling you something. So, take him to the vet and see if it is what he is eating and/or the weather.

You should change the dog food i say you go to a vet and ask what kind of dog food do they recommend and ask them about any other worries you have about your new puppy.

Try giving him alittle white rice..that will bind him and it can't hurt. Then make an appointment for the vet just as a precaution. It's probably nothing but go anyway.

Okay, get him Kibbles and bits and put some water in it (NOT A LOT) Because if the food is too wet it will make his poo poo wet and diahrea looking, but if its hard it can get him constipated.. trust me I had three dogs in my lfie time..
