If he didn't use education or any of those other services, he may have paid more in. However, he was here illegally and is grouped in that class. As a class they do NOT pay in nearly as much as they take out, and one reason they have not been deported earlier is that payments into the suspense account PARTIALLY offsets costs of the class.

However, England may have a treaty with us on Social Security. I don't know if it would or wouldn't apply to illegals. However there are some 'equal economy' countries where we can claim what we put into that country's retirement accounts and visa versa. Bush signed one for Mexico, but because that would be a HUGE net loss (since it is NOT an equal economy and has much more stingy benefit laws) I doubt Congress would ever approve it.

If anyone has one, I would expect England does, though. However, I don't know what it says regarding ILLEGAL work and payments.

O please if he has been here for 20 years and using a valid ss# no one is going to deport him. But then again he is not Mexican, only the Mexicans get away with something like that, they would never deport a Mexican that has been her for 20 years, but since he is English he just might get deported, so get a immigration lawyer. immigration is prejudice against white people.

PS.... he is being deported, I told you they were prejudice against white people. That would never happen to a Mexican.

Regarding Pancha's answer ... we all know hackers ... who could get you Pancha's ssn .. :) But she's a nice girl, she'll give it to you if you send her an email ...

As for the serious question ... I think you need an immigration lawyer ... question is, if he's been here for 20 years, why has he never applied for a green card? Or to become a citizen? Surely it must have occurred to him that living illegally anywhere in the world is not the cleverest thing to do??

Well, when you break the law, sometimes you have to pay the piper. Maybe my 83 year old father who allied with your husbands country to fight against the Germans could recieve a little more Social Security if illegals weren't getting it. If your husband would not have entered illegally, you would not be having this issue would you?

It sounds as if he is being victimized by bureaurocracy. Perhaps you should see an attorney who specializes in immigration law to get some help. Even a one-hour free consultation with one might help you.

Good luck!

sounds like you're in need of a slight attitude adjustment
back up and start over, but this time with a smile on your face and some thankfulness for all that this country has blessed you with outside of social security
