my friend is coming to town when i pick him up at the airport should i give him a hug and a kiss on the cheek , or hug and a tap kiss on the lips or just a hug, it has been a couple of weeks that we dont see each other, we talk on the phone almost everyday. he works in Phili and i live in PR

If you are good friends, then there is absolutely nothing wrong with a big hug and smooch on the lips. That is normal and not considered inappropriate for good friends of the opposite sex.
If you think he might take it the wrong way, then a big hug and a peck on the cheek is fine as well. Any kind of kiss is ok as long as your lips are closed. If you open mouth kiss him then I would worry about it being misunderstood.....you wouldn't do that anyway, so no matter what....closed mouth smooches on lips or cheek is completely fine.

If you two are more than just friends, then a kiss on the lips and a hug. If you two are just friends then a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

Are you in a romantic relationship with him or a friendship? If you believe that you relationship falls under the later category then I would advice you to simply hug him and perhaps kiss him on the cheek if you feel it is appropriate.
May I ask you if you are aspiring to have a more intimate relationship with him?

depends if your friends or more, just friends a hug id fine, friends but you want more give a hug, then a nice kiss on the cheek, and squeeze his hand.
