For your use of Revelation, it is not talking about the bible as a whole, but the book of revelation itself. There is a similar scripture in Deuteronomy that says not to add to it. If this means not to add on to the Bible, then all of us Christians (I am LDS) are in serious trouble. Moses only meant not to add on to Deuteronomy, not the entire bible. Does this help any?

Funny how the non -Mormons are so eager to answer, and end their opinions in negative remarks.

I am a LDS Mormon

We do not consider the Book of Mormon to be addition to the Bible, rather, it is another testament of Christ. In another word, a second witness to the truth of Christ.

What John wrote in revealation:

18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
(New Testament | Revelation 22:18)

I believe John meant this for the book of Revealation, not the Bible, since the Bible do not exist at that time.

If you do not agree, please consider what Moses wrote in the Old testament:

2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which
(Old Testament | Deuteronomy 4:2)

From this verse, I could say that any scriptures after the books written by Moses would be invalid, and the new testament will be invalid also, but i would not say that, because I know Moses imply only on what he wrote.

last note : It is illogical to think that God will not inspire more words for us to live by, I am sure we are important as much as the people in the ancient times.

I am not a Mormon, but a fellow Christian. The Mormons claim the Book of Mormon is "another testament of Jesus Christ." meaning that it is in addition to the Bible by their beliefs. They also believe the King James Bible to be the bible to use, although the believe it is infallible and not all God's word, they believe it is only correct as translated by man. Sorry I answered this without being Mormon, but you might as well end up with both sides of the beliefs.

The Book of Mormon is a work of fiction stolen by Joseph Smith from a New York City publishing house and offered up as prophesy. It has no connection with the Bible. Close your mind to its poison and avoid contact with family members who are Mormons. The Mormons are a non-Christian cult that pervert the word of God. Do not let them sway you to their beliefs---your eternal security is at stake.

The Prophets in the Book of Mormon lived on the American continents... as such their works were not included with the works in the Bible.

I have read only minor parts of the Bible... so I cannot say about Revelations.

Sorry, it's all a myth. Who but a nut, wack job gets a "revelation from God" by putting magic stones into a hat and then putting the hat over his face? "Hitchhiker's Guide To The Universe" probably has more truth than the Book of Mormon.

I am not Mormon, but members of my husbands family are, they have been trying to convert me for 32 years. The Book of Mormon is a testament of Jesus' life in the Americas. You can choose to believe or not. I don't care for their religion because of the women's place in their church, which is subservient to men. It is not a religion for a strong woman.

you are correct about the bible saying that this is entire and complete

the mormons believe that their book is an addition to the bible

that is why I am not a mormon

I believe as I believe....... every one else is free to believe as they believe

you have to decide for yourself what is right and what is wrong
