I just had a misscarriage about a month ago. And today I went to the hospital today to get ready for my surgery tomorrow. They did a pregnancy test and when I left it was negative. The nurse called me about 10 mins. later and said the results have changed to positave. Is this ok or could I still be pregnant and just thought I had a misscarage? Please someone help me.

After a miscarriage, sometimes it takes awhile for a hormone "human chorionic gonadotropin" or HCG ( a hormone produced during pregnancy) levels to go back to zero, so it is possible to get a positive pregnancy test from a miscarriage for a month or more after a loss. If HCG levels were monitored and it had gone back to zero, then a positive test may indicate a new pregnancy. If you are sure you didn't got pregnant again after the miscarriage then getting a positive result after such miscarriage is very possible and it is just normal.

Wow, that's a toughy. I would say take 2 other pregnancy tests at home first and see what the results are (take First Response)....OR schedule an emergency blood test to be done at your doctors to check for that before your surgery....they can usually get you in if all they are going to do is draw blood....I've done that before. It should be ok.
IF you WOULD have had a miscarriage the results would have been NEGATIVE because the HcG hormone only lasts 1 week in you after a miscarriage. I had a miscarriage when I was 17 and a week later it was a negative test.
it sounds like you are probably still pregnant OR possibly pregnant with another child. Anything is possible.

I might feel that once 2 weeks your hormone phases are nonetheless top ample to your process to sign up at the being pregnant scan -- that's average. It takes a at the same time for the hormone levels to fritter away. After I miscarried, mine stayed top for a whilst as good. If they continue to be immoderate for for much longer, you must speak on your general practitioner -- the D & C might potentially now not have been "complete" and if there may be some thing left, the hormones will keep immoderate. If that is the case, it might require additional medical intervention so that illness does not set in. I'm very, very sorry to your loss.

Go to your doctor. When you pee on the stick, after a certain time, they can read positive. They are only valid for a certain amount of time. If your results are negative again, contact that nurses supervisor and put in a complaint.

That's a question you should be asking the nurse or your Dr.
