put a cork in it and it will last a week maybe, but if it is exposed to the air that is when it will go bad

The main problem is that once wine is exposed to air, its flavor and aroma will slowly deteriorate. Chilling will slow the process, but a better way is to reduce the amount of air in the bottle by decanting into smaller bottles that are filled to the top. You can also raise the level of the wine by adding marbles to the bottle.

White wines, if refrigerated, often last longer than reds, but it is best to use any table wine within a day or two of opening.

Hopefully you don't keep red wine in the fridge, only white. Red will keep for many months as long as you at least partially replace the cork and keep it in a cool dry place, out of the sunlight. White whine, once uncorked should be kept in the fridge. It will not last long here though due to funky fridge odors' ability to penetrate the cork and get into the wine.

Not long at all a day maybe two, you can buy temporary stoppers from a lot of supermarkets that might extend the life by another day or so. Once a bottle of wine is open drink it.

Is this a serious question? Can't even find the fridge after opening wine in our house

Well, in my home fridge an open bottle keeps about an hour maybe an hour and a half. After that it becomes an empty bottle in the trash.

white wine ONLY in the fridge and only for a week. Red wine does not need refrigerated but does need to stay cool and out of the sun for a few weeks. also...any old wine can be used for a good sauce, marinade.

About 24 hours. After that, it's gross.

If you are serving it for other people, open it! Bringing an already opened bottle of wine is very poor etiquette!

alcohol doesnt go out of date, so it can last for a while, but opened, wine can last for quite some time, but the flavour and taste change over time, and after a few days really isnt that great. anyways!!! who ever leaves a bottle that long ;)
