It talks about weddings in the bible, & they should be an example. Also one should not commit adultary so there needs to be some committment between two people.

In the old testament a vow would be made before the Lord to the Lord. So a wedding vow would mean that it is a promise statement to the Lord. So when one says a wedding vow, "Till death do us part...". When that vow is broken. It is a broken vow to God.

While the Bible itself does not have particular wedding vows- it does teach some very basic principals about marriage.

Mark 10:7-9 does teach us a very important principal (and also has the part - what God has put together let no man tear apart). Marriage is to be put together by God and this is why we take vows before God and our friends.

At many weddings people like to read 1 Corinthians 13 which describes the kind of love that God has for us and reminds the couple of the kind of love they are to have for one another...

Hope that helps...

The only part of traditional wedding vows in the Bible is: Matt 19:6Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

The traditional vows you hear are just that, tradition. This is how come a lot of people write their own vows.

Wedding vows are not in the bible. The book of fables does not include this.

There not/ each denomination uses there own guidelines. Regardless of the vows the most important thing is the commitment between the couple or else all the words in the world won't make the union last.
