They both provide essentially the same thing, and both are powered by a subscription module, and very expensive. Ancestry.com runs 12.99 month (when paid yearly) or 29.99 month (paid monthly). Genealogy.com runs yearly for $69, 99, or 199. Plans that are cheaper include lesser features such as family trees, and census reports. In this case, the name of the site should not determine the selected site. I may also point out RootsWeb.com, it is supported by ancestry.com, but free.

RootsWeb.com is very good. I do extenzive research without the other 2. If there was specific information I needed I would consider limited time membership.
