How quick does it take mold spores to make your body react?

There was a plant outside my office door that collected water and it began to grow fungus and much more. Someone even put newspaper in it to soak up the excess water. It smelled like rotten eggs. They took the plant out, siphoned out the dirty water, stunk out the whole building, and immediately my nose and sinuses began to react. Is it just a coincidence that maybe I caught a cold and the symptoms began at exactly the same time they started messing with the water?

could be a cold could be allergies. it depends on how allergic you are to mold. i'm highly allergic so that wuold really bug me
