Why is a woman called a slapper for sleeping around, but a man is praised for doing the same thing?

I've never been able to work it out. They are both doing the same thing. The only difference is their gender. I would like to hear your own opinions.

Because men insist on having their double standards when it comes to women. I asked one of my mates that question, and all he could say was 'Well its for guys to do that, and the more girls you sleep with the better your rep'. All I can say is there are some really bad male sluts out there.

I have wondered that. I think it may just be an outdated thing, from the days of men being dominant and he could go and sleep around because he was the man but the woman belonged to the man. I think anyone who sleeps around is a slapper, whether they are male or female. I think some people still go by the fact that it is the woman who could get pregnant but then, I would say it is the responsibility of both people.

This question will never be answered, Just like the questions....why is a single woman that dates alot called a sl*t and a man is called a stud for doing the same. An older woman that has never married or had kids is called an old spinster but the man is called a batchelor. A gray haired wrinkled woman is called old and the man of the same is called disdinguished. Woman are called homewreckers/adultress if they cheat on their husbands but if the husband cheats on his wife it's ok becauce he a man. Women have alway gotten the raw end of the deal.

I think this is all about stereotypes and equality issues. Actually I don't believe in sleeping around, I think you should make a commitment to someone you choose as a partner even if you are not married. Once again, it's a respect issue and one that people have to examine their conscience about. If you really loved someone, why would you hurt them in this way? Probably it would be because you had "issues" yourself - maybe a "cold" upbringing with a lack of love at home. Or maybe you just like variety. Then it's a question of - how many people have I hurt? Did I even ask them if I hurt them or not bother? If you are the one who is cheated on, can you forgive? It's a tough issue to deal with and you have to examine the reasons why it happened and how much you love them/what you personally can cope with. It takes a lot of guts to love someone in spite of their faults,but that doesn't mean that people who make these errors/cheat are in the right at all. They need to work on themselves too and ask themselves why they behave like that.

Society influenced by nasty sexist relgions who are afraid and jealous of the power single young females who can sleep around have over guys as fertile and available if the guys do or give them what they want.

I have no problem with either sleeping around as long as they do it safely, care about others feelings, aovid hurting others and don't bully or force anyone to do things they don't want to do.


Ie male or female rock stars bed groupies is fine...if they are nice to them and treat them with the respect they would want someone to give them, but if they know said groupies has a crush on them and they exploit it then kick them out like garbage after thats not on.

Whats fair for one is fair for the other,

Men have to have good fishing, drinking, and sex stories to impress their other male friends. That usually does impress them too! Women need good shopping, make-up, and gossip stories to share with their other female friends. Sex stories do not interest most other women especially when they can discuss more important things such as shopping. Sex interests men, and they like to brag about it. It's just the discussion preference differences between the genders I suppose!
