Drinking hot tea, and getting all sweaty, but it tastes better than salt water!

make hot tea, use honey, lemon, and mint. drink it in your bathroom with the shower on the hottest setting. as phlem loosens, spit it out, but try not to use your vocal chords to hack it out. also, but disgusting is making ginger, garlic, tea. boil it all together and gargle with it, swallow some, but minimize swallowing because of the taste and strength of tea. don't use vocals until you absolutely need to, even then, it might take a few tries to get anything discernable out. good luck!

try a gargle of lemon and warm water. The water will relax your throat and the lemon will cut the phlegm. Warm salt water might work as well. I'd see a doctor if the condition continues or worsens.

Drink a shot of lemon juice. The acid will clear out the phelgm. Also, gargle salt water.

Lemon tea, or like I call it, hot lemonade. You need a lot of citrus. Make sure you are hydrated. Drinking enough water will thin out your secretions.
Losing your voice is a result of phlegm from an upper respitory infection.

All of the above salt water stuff is good too, but when I loose my voice, I stand on my head for about 10 minutes, let the blood rush down there. If you dont want to stand on your head, you can hang your head off the side of the bed. Just don't stand up to fast afterwards, or you'll pass out.

Gargle warm salt water, drink hot tea with lemon in it. It will take time but those things will help speed up the process. If the doctor tells you that you have strep throat (which hurts and sucks) he will give you an anit-biotic to take for about 10 days. Strep is contagious until you get on the anti-biotics for 3days. Get better!

Gargle with mouthwash or salt water. Drink pineapple juice, excellent for reducing and breaking down phlegm. The most important thing you should do is not talk or even whisper as this will only add strain on your vocal chords.

Mix real lemon juice with honey and drink it... don't do a shot... you want to drink it slow to "scrape" the stuff you have in your throat. So you can take a small spoon and have the mix spoon by spoon. It will be sweet at first, and the more you have it, the more acid you will feel in your throat, but that's ok. As far as the whole losing your voice thing, the best you can do is not speak for about a week or talk like you were whispering... I had that twice in my life and the doctor didn't give me medicine, just told me to stop talking. Good luck, it's not easy not to talk.
