What polite way can I tell someone to eat food more quiet and with their mouths closed?

One of my coworkers eats food with the most foul sounds, smacking, grinding so loud and its realy killing my nerves. I don't wanna explode on her and tell her to eat with her god damn mouth closed, but I am on the verge everyday breakfast and lunch.

honest what they are doing is rude, so you don't have to worry about being tooo polite. Just say " could you please eat with your mouth shut and control the noise a little, it is very rude and disturbs me!" If they leave, better for you!

YES! Go ahead and explode on her!! That is a horrible sound! That guy eating the cereal on that commercial even gets on my nerves, and HE has his mouth closed!!

Polite - this still isn't very polite, but you could wait until she is NOT eating and then get something totally LOUD and chew just like she does, and then say, "Don't you just hate it when you have to listen to somebody chew with their mouth open - it always sounds louder to the person listening instead of the person chewing!"Good luck. PS There are always ear plugs.

I know you can do this because you care enough to want to be polite. Try to catch her before she starts eating, so you are not already irritated. Take her aside and tell her you know that she may not be aware of it, but that her table manners can bother other people. Suggest that it's better to eat quietly so that dinner conversation can be better enjoyed. It will help her social life, and prevent snap judgments by her supervisors that would hurt her chances for promotion. Ask her to sit at a separate table with you, and you can point out other people as they eat, the ones who are doing it right, and maybe you can find someone who is doing it wrong, too. However, she probably doesn't know how it seems to others, and may be embarrassed to find out. She will eventually be very grateful to you for your help.

I AM WITH YOU GIRL. This is one of my biggest pet peeves, I can't stand it. If I am at a restaurant and someone near me is doing it I will go to their table and ask them to stop. I don't know where these people learned to eat, they have no manners and no etiquette, so I have no problem with reminding them that we are at a table, and not in the barn and can they close their mouth because they are gross.

Tell him to shut his mouth or you or the hospital will shut his mouth for him. Tell him the only difference is the hospital will wire his mouth shut.
