There are enzyme cleaners they sell at most pet and department stores. These cleaners actually break down the waste and elimate the stain.
With other cleaners, you may not be able to smell it, but your dog might, encouraging them to use the spot again.

Get a steam cleaner and use 1/2 white vinegar to 1/2 hot hot hot water. It will take the smell out of carpeting.

If you don't want to steam clean it, spray some water/vinegar on there, let it dry, spray again, let it dry. It works better than Fabreeze at eliminating odors.

If you can, lift any carpet that is out there, paint with KILZ from Walmart...it goes on like paint and 100% gets rid of all odors and stains!! I used it under old tile...gag....so great.

Baking Soda or store bought deoderizers. Look at a store that rents Steam Cleaners, they usually have something for pet smell that can be used with the steam cleaner. But you could buy the solution and use without the steam cleaner.

Try pouring white vinegar (full strength) on the entire surface of the patio and let it soak in, then use the hose to rinse it off. You may have to repeat it a couple of times, but white vinegar will neutralize the odor.

If it's concrete, use a diluted solution of bleach with water, soak the area well, let it sit, then rinse well, or else the remaining bleach can burn the dog's feet. Also, try using baking soda, and then pressure washing the area. Good luck!

What is the patio made of? Baking soda will absorb odor but I don't know exactly what to recommend because you have not stated what your patio is made of.
