it was before 7th grade, all my friends were doing it so i was like ehhh why not. I was scared before that maybe it would look weird, or that I would ruin my hair, but after I went through with it...I WAS SOOOO HAPPY!!! Stay on the dowl low whem in comes to highliughts though...

I was 15. But I think that the strength of your hair should really be the determining factor for the appropriate age.

13. I had an unintentional afro at the time. I dyed it purple with a green stripe down the middle.
My mother was not happy.
