my dad did the same thing to me and my fiance' years ago, sometimes dads don't know whats really best for their daughters and how did I handle it" I still went behind dads back and seen him because my dad is an asshole!

what are his reasons for not liking ur bf? u have to admit, your parents love you and want the best for you. either there's something wrong w/ ur bf, or he is a bit too overprotective. find out the real reasons why, and ask him to give ur boyfriend a chance to show what kind of guy he really is. also, sometimes love is blind and u may try to be w/ him even though he disapponts or makes u sad..and people around u will notice and tell you, it's harder for you to see it. if he truly loves and respects you, he will continue to try to make it work with your father. if your father is being unfair, i guess u have to do what you have to do, but at least acknowledge that u appreciate & respect your father's feelings but he has to respect yours.
