Vasectomy and Tubals are reversable, but the chances of either reversals working is not a very high percentage, and its very expensive. I would not have a tubal, unless you are absolutely sure without a doubt. I mean not even a little. I spent 2 yrs talking with women online who just wanted a baby after making the choice of a tubal. They all agreed at the time they had doubts about the surgery. Also realize having a Tubal can throw you into the change of life early. Read and research what you can before doing it, and maybe even join a Reversal group just to ask people what happen to make them change thier minds to make sure your ready. After all that if you still think your ready find a differnt dr who will do the surgery.

I am also 28, I am going to have my 3rd baby. I really don't think that i want another child, I was going to do the same thing get my tubes tied. But i thought about it you never know what will happen later in life. Maybe you will want another child... I would recommend you do whatever you want to do the decision is all yours. Although there are good IUD's out there that last 5 to 10 yrs. I plan after this child to take the Mirena.
In the end it is your entire decision...
GL to you!!!!

Hey I am 23 and have had three kids and have had my tubes tied, but you need to think if you are going to want more kids later. If you are 100% sure you don't want more kids then go ahead. Just trust yourself and don't rush into it. Take some time to think. I see many patients who didn't think enough about it before having it done and then regret it. Hope this helps!

Get a second opinion. Its solely your decision. Doctors aren't always right. A friend of mine is only 23 with 5 kids and one on the way because her doctor refuses to let her do it even no birth control has worked.

It is a decision that should only be made by you and your partner!!! MANY doctors and peers of mine discourage patients from doing this, then the poor patients come up pregnant again and are not financially or emotionally prepared for the pregnancy or parenting. It is not appropriate or ethical for a physician to impose his opinions on you or to discourage you from making desired health care decisions. I would find a new doc. Good luck to you. This is a personal decision, and the doctor is to be the faciltator, and that only.

I dont think so.Are you married?
ost doctors tell you not to get the procedure until you are at least 30.But, if you are sure you'r done and want to move on with your life. Then go for it.I am 30 and my youngest is 3 months old .I had my tubes tied after his delivery.

Yes your husband should have a vasectomy it is reversable because you may wake up on day and suddenly realize that you really would like another one even if right now you're thinking no way plus tying your tubes is a huge operation and a vasectomy is such a small procedure

Your body is your right, don't be made to question yourself by a doctor. If you question the decision, don't do it yet. You would be more of a fool to let Catholics, doctors or anyone tell you what's right for you, because they all have agendas that don't concern you. They don't care about your heart. Look deep inside and think it over as long as you need.

I had my tubes tied 2 years ago. I so regret it. Evey one warned me of what would and could happen and they were so right. After having mine tied I have been experiencing these weird mood swings (with everyone) extremely heavy and long periods. Severe cramping and night sweats.

My advice is don't do it!

Doctors see it as a bad decision because of your young age, however, you should do what feels right to YOU. Besides now adays all that can be reversed if you decide to have another kid later on in life.
