Oh man it's nice to read that.
According to the Lord of the Rings Volume 1 "The fellowship of the rings" he is clearly described as having "sandy brown hair"
Now you have to understand that in that part of middle earth, the sand was heavy with iron deposits, making the sand more reddish-brown than blonde as some people have mistakenly interpreted.
