who's words God will put in his mouth and he shall certainly speak all that God commands. It goes further to say "And if you say in your [minds and] hearts, How shall we know which words the Lord has not spoken? When a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or prove true, that is a word which the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him."

See Acts 3:19-26 and Acts 7:37.

Jesus is that prophet. the Old Testament looks forward to the coming of Christ, the New Testament to the 2nd coming of Christ.

When Jesus came he fulfilled all the laws and all that the prophets had been teaching.

In the OT there are "types". Figures who share Christ-like attributes and point the way to the promised Messiah. The passage in Deuteronomy is not saying that Moses is Christ (hence yoru arguments about how Moses died, etc. are misinterpreting the passage). In relation to #5 - Jesus also states in the gospel that the Kingdom of God is here.

I do not see that this chapter is saying that the prophet in v18 is Jesus. Just that a prophet would be provided to the people when needed... there were many prophets of God from the begining to the time of Jesus. That is how God communicated His will to the people. Not all the names of all the prophets, not even close, are known today... But there were many.

As to Jesus... He was a faithful Jew during his time of growing up on earth. He observed All of the Law He Authored. He came to fulfill that law. The Law of moses is not moot for The Church. If we follow the Commission Jesus gave us, and obay the great comandment to love God, and our neighbor as ourselves, then we fulfill the Law through the teachings of Jesus.

Moses was a messenger of the Covenant.

The prophet like Moses would be the Messiah, Yeshua, the messenger of the Renewed Covenant.

Moses brought the Children of Yisrael (Israel) out of bondage, out of captivity, and introduced them to YHWH, God.

Yeshua did the same, for all mankind.

Regarding your question #1 and #2, since you (Muslim?) say he was not the son of God, we can pretty much throw those two out the window. Don't argue a point with terms you don't believe in.

3. You want to tell me that Muhammad died on Mount Moriah, alone, and was burried without any marker on his grave?
4. Did Muhammad come back from the dead?
5. Yeshua called himself the King of the Jews. Wouldn't that count as being a ruler?
6. Just because you don't know where Yeshua was does not mean his where-abouts were unknown. Moses was in hiding (from Egypt) for 40 years, too. And "he only came with the message for 3?"
7. If you read the scriptures, it would suggest that the Law existed and was known before Moses. For it says " Abraham obeyed me and kept my requirements, my commands, my decrees and my laws." (Genesis 26:5) While we have no record of these requirements, commands, decrees and laws written before Moses, it's still shown that Abraham knew and kept them.

I guess you're gonna be upset because the answer is Jesus..just because it's says "a prophet like Him" Doesn't mean that that were going to be exactly a like..Also Jesus did what God told him to do. The same way God worked thru Moses, he does with Jesus. Read The Old Testament

Be Blessed.

You are reading this passage too literally. (And this reminds me of another question today!)

The foretold prophet IS Jesus, he is a prophet as is Moses, or to put it another way you are a human like Moses was. This means that Moses was a human, not that you are constantly being spoken to by God.

I do not know which religion you follow, but I ask you, was Buddha or Mohammed recognised as a prophet before he reached maturity, for as St Paul wrote to the Corinthians:

(Corinthians 13:11)
When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.

To take the words of translated works like The Bible and expect to find 100% clarity is not possible, errors in translation creep in. this is because the translators are only human.

Jesus was who they were looking for as it relates to Deuteronomy 18:18.

1. Christ alone was like Moses as a Prophet; for it is written, "there arose not a prophet in Israel like Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face, in all the signs and wonders which the Lord sent him to do," (Deut. 34:10-12). This cannot be understood of the ordinary prophets which were raised up in Israel, but of Christ only, as the apostles expound it in Acts 2:22-26.

2. Christ was like Moses in respect to his office of mediation between God and his people, (Deut. 5:5; 1 Tim. 2:5); but greater than Moses as being the mediator of a better covenant, (or testament,) which was established upon better promises, (Heb. 8:6).

3. Christ was like Moses in excellency; for as Moses excelled all the prophets in speaking to God mouth to mouth, (Num. 12:6-8), so Christ excelled him and all men in that being in the bosom of the Father, he has come down from heaven and declared God unto us, (John 1:18; 3:13).

4. Christ was like Moses in faithfulness, but also excelling; for Moses was faithful in God’s house as a servant, but Christ as the son over his own house, (Heb. 3:2, 5-6).

5. In Acts 7:37, Stephen, the first Christian martyr, quoted Deuteronomy 18:18-19, and applied it to Jesus Christ. This so infuriated the Jews that they stoned him to death.

6. We have two inspired witnesses who apply this passage in Deuteronomy to Jesus. The biblical requirement for testimony is that at the mouth of two witnesses, or three, every word is established (Deut. 19:15; Matt. 18:16; II Cor. 13:1). Therefore, Peter’s and Stephen’s use of Deuteronomy 18:15-17 established it as Messianic, referring only to Jesus Christ.

There are many more evidences, but if you won't accept these, you certainly won't accept those, either. Besides, any more and it would get tedious.

First of all, it is written in God's (JHVH) word the Bible that, "All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work."-2 Tim. 3:16
Hence, "all the things that were written aforetime were written for our instruction."
As regards the above question in Deuteronomy De 18:15-19; The sacred scriptures applies this to Jesus.
This is brought out at (Acts 3:19-24) " 19 “Repent, therefore, and turn around so as to get YOUR sins blotted out, that seasons of refreshing may come from the person of Jehovah 20 and that he may send forth the Christ appointed for YOU, Jesus, 21 whom heaven, indeed, must hold within itself until the times of restoration of all things of which God spoke through the mouth of his holy prophets of old time. 22 In fact, Moses said, ‘Jehovah God will raise up for YOU from among YOUR brothers a prophet like me. YOU must listen to him according to all the things he speaks to YOU. 23 Indeed, any soul that does not listen to that Prophet will be completely destroyed from among the people.’ 24 And all the prophets, in fact, from Samuel on and those in succession, just as many as have spoken, have also plainly declared these days. "
(Peter one of Jesus' disciples under holy spirit had revealed to those about that Jesus was the one spoken of by Moses at Deuteronomy 18:15-19;)

A point to consider, during Jesus’ TRANSFIGURATION, Moses and Elijah also appeared “with glory.” (Lu 9:30, 31; Mt 17:3; Mr 9:4) It had been foretold that Jehovah would raise up a prophet like Moses, and that promise was fulfilled in Christ.
THUS, There were many similarities between Moses and Jesus, such as: Babes were killed at their births, though they themselves were spared (Ex 1:20–2:10; Mt 2:7-23); they both experienced fasts of 40 days’ duration (Ex 24:18; 34:28; De 9:18, 25; Mt 4:1, 2); both were raised up by God in the interests of true worship and to effect deliverance (Ex 3:1-10; Ac 7:30-37; 3:19-23); they were each privileged by God to mediate a covenant with his people (Ex 24:3-8; Heb 8:3-6; 9:15); both were used by Jehovah to magnify his name (Ex 9:13-16; Joh 12:28-30; 17:5, 6, 25, 26).

Deu_18:15-19. Christ the Prophet is to be heard.
The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a prophet — The insertion of this promise, in connection with the preceding prohibition, might warrant the application (which some make of it) to that order of true prophets whom God commissioned in unbroken succession to instruct, to direct, and warn His people; and in this view the purport of it is, “There is no need to consult with diviners and soothsayers, as I shall afford you the benefit of divinely appointed prophets, for judging of whose credentials a sure criterion is given” (Deu_18:20-22). But the prophet here promised was pre-eminently the Messiah, for He alone was “like unto Moses” (see on Deu_34:10) “in His mediatorial character; in the peculiar excellence of His ministry; in the number, variety, and magnitude of His miracles; in His close and familiar communion with God; and in His being the author of a new dispensation of religion.” This prediction was fulfilled fifteen hundred years afterwards and was expressly applied to Jesus Christ by Peter (Act_3:22, Act_3:23), and by Stephen (Act_7:37).

Mohammed (PBUH)
Deut. 18:18
I will raise them up a prophet from among their bretheren, like unto thee, and I will put my words in his mouth: and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.

"Three unlikes"
" In the first place Jesus(pbuh) is not like Moses, because, according to you Jesus is God, but Moses is not God,
"Second according to You JESUS(pbuh) DIED FOR THE SINS OF THE WORLD but Moses did not have to die for the sins of the world."
"Thirdly according to you Jesus(pbuh) went to Hell for three days but Moses did not have to go there."

This is a good book and has a substancial argument about how Mohammed (pbuh) was like Moses.
