i was danceing last night and i fell and twisted my ankle and now it looks like it is turning colors and it is swolen very badly should i go to a doctor or not

If you think it's only sprained, then think RICE for the first 24 hours - Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation. If you think it's broken, you need a doctor now.

Put a few ice cubes in a plastic bag, wrap that in a towel, and put that on the ankle. Don't put the ice or plastic directly on the skin - you don't want to add frostbite to your list of problems. All you need to do is cool it, not freeze it. This will help prevent swelling.

After 24 hours, you can start using heat instead of cold. This will help speed circulation in the area, carrying off fluids, bringing in nutrients to the tissue as it works to rebuild itself.

In the meantime, keep it elevated if at all possible, and don't walk on it any more than you absolutely have to. If it doesn't improve soon, see a doctor.

if you can move it and you don't feel a sharp pain, it's probably not broken. keep it elevated and iced, and wrap it in a tensor bandage to reduce the swelling and KEEP OFF OF IT!! If you have sharp pain or have problems moving it, get and xray, you may need a cast.
