Take him to ESPNzone. What guy wouldn't like a sports themed party. It would be fun for all and the kids would love the big screens.

The Pines of Rome! My favorite restaurant in the world. (I dream of it often -- I grew up in the DC area, but now live in LA). It's in Bethesda, but just about 2 miles from the DC line. It's a huge place, and could easily accomidate a party that big (see if you can make reservations.) Amazing, unpretentious food, not expensive. I've been eating there since I was a little kid in the early 80's, and not one thing has changed! I'm hungry just thinking about it!

Probably the best bet for you and your group is Ruth Chris Steahouse on Connecticut Avenue. Get there before 6:30 pm (excluding Sunday) and you get the Early Bird Specials. Either a 28 oz porterhouse steak or a 2 lb lobster dinner - with all the trimmings - for $7.95 - and it includes beer or wine.

Haha I'm so happy you mentioned the Pines of Rome! I know the owner really well so I'm biased but it's one of the few good neighborhood kinda restaurants in the area and it's very reasonably priced. It's in downtown Bethesda which is a good area to walk around as well with a movie theater too. It's right on the Red Line too

Buca di Beppo -- There's one in DC -- I'm sure it's like ours here in Cincinnati. Good food -- family sized portions -- great atmosphere.
If you've never been, here's the website: http://www.bucadibeppo.com
