Bible says Genesis, Ch. 1, Verses 9 to 13… ‘Earth was created on the 3rd day. How can you have a night and day without the earth ? The day depends upon the rotation of the Earth Without the earth created, how can you have a night and day? Point No..4, Genesis, Ch. No. 1 Verses 9 to 13 says… ‘Earth was created on the third day.’ Genesis Ch. No. 1 Verses 14 to 19 says…‘The Sun and the Moon were created on the fourth day.’ Today science tells us… ‘Earth is part of the parent body… the sun.’ It cannot come into existence before the sun – It is unscientific. Point No. 5, the Bible says in Genesis, Ch. No.1, Verse No. 11 to 13…‘The vegetation, the herbs the shrubs, the trees - they were created on the 3rd day And the Sun, Genesis, Ch. No. 1, Verses. 14 to 19, was created on the 4th day.How can the vegetation come into existence without sunlight, and how can they survive without sunlight ? It is unscientific.

In Genesis 1: 1-5 it specifically says that there was evening and morning, the first day. So we see that there were certainly days before the Earth was created.
As far as the sun being created on the fourth day and the veggies on the third, we already know that there is light and darkness, wherever they are coming from, so the veggies should be just fine for the next twenty-four hours. As far as the sun and the moon being created on the fourth day, Ken Ham has this to say:
One of the possible reasons God deliberately left the creation of the sun until the fourth day is because he knew that, down through the ages, cultures would try to worship the sun as the source of life. Not only this, modern-day theories tell us that the sun came before the earth. God is showing us he made the earth and light to start with, that he can sustain it with its day and night cycle, and that the sun was created on the fourth day as a tool of his to be the bearer of light from that time.

The Bible was never intended to be a scientific textbook. Science and Spirit are but two of the many facets that make up our lives. The Spiritual relies on primarily on faith with some factual evidence to support that faith, while science relies primarily on factual evidence with some faith to provide the hypotheses and methods.
The other problem with this argument is that it doesn't take into account the limitations of science. Science is primarily used as a tool to quantifiably measure the observed characteristics so that a patter of predictability can be established. This doesn't work for single beginnings, however. The earth and universe was only created once. Therefore it can't be measured accurately because there is not standard to compare it to other than nothingness. And we are unable to create nothingness since "something" already exists. As far as predictability and repeatability, neither of those applies as this was a one-time occurrence.
So you are unscientifically using science to critique a book that was never intended to be used in that way to begin with. To use this application in other places, perhaps you can look up the definition of a word in the newspaper comics, but I'm sure you will be just as frustrated there and will correctly be able to say that the comics are not a valid dictionary. Congratulations.

God created the heavens (sun, moon, stars) so he knew the duration of their cycles.
Creation was spontaneous. What "science" tells you is a theory. There's no evidence that the earth CAME from the sun. The bible stands as OUR evidence that he CREATED the earth from nothing.
The bible doesn't say plants sprouted up and grew under the sun. They were created at their mature stage from nothing. And you can put any potted plant in a dark room for one day and it will not die.
In conclusion, you're right. Its unscientific. But then, science is supposed to be the observation of nature, rather than the other way around. The nature of the universe is that it was created. That is a scientific topic worthy of study.

you're killing your own logic here. you said yourself that "the day depends on the rotation of the earth". even if there wasn't a sun yet, would not one full revolution of the earth around its axis still equal one day?
besides, you are definitely confused about the order of how things happened here. FIRST God invented the concept of a "day," THEN He arranged things so that one full revolution of the earth equals one day, THEN He put the sun in place so that each day would be half light and half darkness (approximately).
God's plan is perfect. It can't be "unscientific," as you say, b/c he made up all the rules. if God's actions appear to break a rule of science, then that rule is flawed and invalid.
Besides, i don't think the idea of the Big Bang is very scientific either. You think that having nothing . . . nothing . . . nothing . . . . . BAM!!! --- UNIVERSE!! makes any sense whatsoever. i think the day, earth, sun sequence is a lot more plausible scientifically than the nothing, nothing, universe sequence.

Trying..... trying not to answer too critically..... trying not to be too insulting....
Simply, it's a no-brainer. You're wrong. The bible does not say what you say it says. Read verse 1, the Earth exists before the first day comes and goes.
Verse 10 DOES say (in King James Version), he called the dry land "earth." Not THE Earth. Just earth. In many languages, the word for "dirt" is the same as the name for "the earth." What makes all the difference in the world is the article, "the."

Scientific process is based on limiting our senses to the repeatable experiences of controlled conditions. Explain how we can set up the experiment to test the "Genesis" account and then we will have some science to compare it with. The science that I was taught in high school is considered foolish today. How can I place complete faith in science which can not hold to the "same" explanation for 40 years? Proof is what ever satisfies your mind but let us not deify what we think.

I assume that a "day" is a figure of speech referring to roughly a 24 hour period, since God is trying to communicate to humans in a way that humans can easily comprehend.
As for "scientific error": if you accept the fact that there is a God, and that God can do anything -- including suspending the laws of physics if he wants to (he IS God, after all) -- then it is not very difficult to believe in miracles.
How do you explain "scientifically" how Jesus healed blind people with his bare hands, walked on water, fed thousands with a few small buns, or came back from the dead? You cannot. That's the whole point. Only God can violate the laws of physics and get away with it.
Don't you have something better to do with your time besides nit-picking at Moses?

Aren't you forgetting something? God was already there The Word (Jesus) was with him.
and by the way 1 day is like a thousand years to God so if he says he created the world in 7 days I believe him. You have to do better then that to outsmart God. Delve a little deeper in your Bible Study and you will never be able to prove God wrong.

That's why it was a MIRACLE.......
Science does not allow for miracles, but that does not make science correct. Science used to say the earth was flat and that maggots were created from rotting meat and that dirt kept you safe from germs.
From a theological standpoint, a "day" and a "night" are humanly created terms.... they may have meant different things at the time to God, and perhaps He did not do these things in 24 hour periods, but rather His own definitons of "days".
