why do you have to wait a year?

see another othadontist...

second opinions you know.

if you must wait a year for any reason pertaining to your mouth you must wait.. if the mouth isn't ready then it's a waste of time to get the braces.

patience pays off big time and do as your told and when the time comes do wear those retainers!

Need more info - why do you have to wait? Money? Dentist won't replenish his supply until then? Permission from parents?

My son is about to get braces. The dentist has a payment plan. the treatment is a flat fee for all the work, we pay monthly, he goes in every 6 weeks or something like that to get adjustments made. If yours doesn't offer this, ask another dentist.

Check and see if there is a local university teaching Dental/ortho. They often have free brace clinics for the students who do not have insurance. sometimes they charge a small fee.

You wait a year to get them. Your teeth will still be there in a year.
