A gentle word like a spark of light,
Illuminates my soul
And as each sound goes deeper,
It's YOU that makes me whole
There is no corner, no dark place,
YOUR LOVE cannot fill
And if the world starts causing waves,
It's your devotion that makes them still
And yes you always speak to me,
In sweet honesty and truth
Your caring heart keeps out the rain,
YOUR LOVE, the ultimate roof
So thank you my Love for being there,
For supporting me,
I'll do the same for you, you know,
My Beautiful.

Sure ask him out. He probably has difficulty telling you how he feels face to face. So, he took the courage to give you a beautiful poem. If you like him, ask him out. He sounds very sweet!

First of all, did he write this? Second of all, if he did write it, did he write about you or just generic? If he wrote it and he wrote it about you....the guy really thinks alot of you. Guys don't take the time to write poems that are that well done if they don't mean them. Somebody that doesn't really mean it might go out and buy you a card that has a nice little poem on it, because they didn't have to express themselves...they just bought a pre made card. But that poem was beautifully written and if he did indeed write that about you himself, then he cares about you. It's up to you whether you feel interested in him enough to date him, but I think he genuinely cares about you to write something like that just for you. I'm a guy, so I would have a good idea if it was BS or not. It all depends on whether he wrote it...and whether he wrote it about you or just sent it to you. In my younger days, I was in a poem writing kick, and I came out with some beautiful love poems....poems that would melt any girls heart. The problem was, they weren't written about anyone in particular.....they were just nice love poems about nobody special. That's why I say, make sure he wrote it specifically about you. Then it's all up to you whether to date him or not.

short answer he is infatuated with you. so if you like the look of the guy who sent that, all i can say is go for it. go on a few dates, see if you have things in common to build a relationship on.
if not accept the fact and be flattered that he loves you enough to write that, be they his words or someone elses.
Only you can decide on what you should do. so think long and hard if you want to date the guy who sent you that.
good luck, take a chance. and don't give your self any reason to regret what might have been if you sayt no to his advances.
just my opinion.

This boy obviously sees you as a very important person in his life.... but if you guys have been like best friends for years, he may just be saying that he loves you as a friend or that he is in love with you. Figure that out before deciding if you guys should be dating

He may just feel really deeply about your friendship, or maybe he has the hots for you. The only way to know is to ask him. Your the ones that need to answer whether or not you should be dating, not us. If you dont feel that way about him then no you shouldnt date him, just because of a poem. I think you guys just need to sit down and have a serious talk.

He likes to write poetry and can actually think. If he has a job run an NCIC background check on him and get a financial statement and copies of his last three years tax returns. If he checks out have him over for dinner.

That's very lovely...but "love" has many flavors...and could be a sentiment meant in any context of love...so doesn't drive it home to me that you should be dating - but you should know that yourself - with our w/o this poem.
If you're not sure what he means...(and I can see why)...then tell him how lovely the poem is...and ask if he can clairfy to you why he sent it to you...that you are intrigued and would love to know...go from there.
Good luck! : -)

if a guy sends you this and your not dating it means he wants to date you. my current boyfriend and i were friends for a while and one day he left me an email and it was this long sweet cute romantic poem. at first i didnt know what to do about it so i decided that night i was going to ask him, so i flat out asked him what was up with the email he sent me. we talked and talked about it and he finally came out and said that he loved me and that he wanted me to be his girlfriend and that he didnt know how to tell me so he thought that the poem would explain it better, plus he was afraid i would say no.

Looks like a love note, to me. Either he likes you and you should go out, or he tells this to every girl he meets or something.

It means he has the hots for you as you well know, but I think he's coming on a little too intense. You might want to back away from this one unless you know that he's not a psycho.
