Pessimistic... we no longer have a democracy in America. We have a dictatorship where the controlling powers are the top 1% that own 95% of the wealth in this country.

Of course some would argue that a democratic republic never was but that is splitting hairs because the simple definition of democracy is simply 'for the ppl, by the ppl'. Of course we have that.. just by representatives elected based on regions.

I am optimistic, but then I always am. I was raised in a time where, we did not have the internet, nor cell phones, nor cursing on TV, Radio, Ads. Even with all that is wrong in this world, I hope for a future, where there is peace for the desert and a gentle democracy for all persons of all races and ethnic heritages.

Well, I would say pessimistic because America is a republic, not a democracy.

Very pessimistic. We have already seen the rise of America, and I strongly believe we are at the top of the rollercoaster and heading down. I wouldnt give it more than 10 years, especially if another Bush is elected.
