I drink hard liquor about once a week are so, but I find it difficult to make the high last all day or for a certain amount of time without either not feeling the effect like I would like or starting to feel ill. It's silly because I'm almost 28 years old and have been drinking all knids of drinks since I was a teenager, so am I burnt out on alcohol or should I switch type, brand, amount, frequency, pace, or what? I talking about generally and also with this half pint of whiskey I just brought and would like to keep use through tomorrow morning. Please and thank you.

It's all about keeping a steady pace. Too often when we're feeling good we think "Wow, to keep feeling this good I need to keep drinking just as fast and as much as I have been", but if you slow down just a bit at that point, you can last all night (or day - whatever)

Water helps too (on the side or as a mixer), keeps ya hydrated!

And don't forget to eat!

Since you drink once a week you cannot be classified as alcoholic. However one drink a week should really take you high because your system is not used to handling it. Daily drinkers drink a lot before getting really drank. If you only drink once a week, hard liquor is too strong and should make you drunk, something doesn't balance out here. If you think you have a drinking problem, you need to seek professional help.

It's all about the pace. The key is to start out drinking hard (to get the buzz going), but not too hard (which will push you into illness), and then drink slow-and-steady for the rest of the time.

For me, I'll start out drinking 3 stiff drinks (but usually they're all in one big ol' cup) in about an hour. Then, after that drink is done, I'll slow down the pace and drink 1 every hour to 1.5 hour. That'll keep me buzzed without making me sick. Also, go with hard alcohol (beer = bloated; wine = headache) and stick to a certain kind of booze (i.e. whiskey only or vodka only). You can add mixers for taste, but don't mix your alcohols.

But then tomorrow morning, be sure to check into rehab with Mel immediately...

Get a good group of friends together and either hang out and grill or go to a entertaining bar and play pool, darts, watch a game etc. When I'm drinking all day a fun scene really has a huge influence on how the alcohol effects you.

This is how alcoholics die. They have to drink more and more to get the same effect. Eventually they have to drink toxic levels in order to feel anything. Get some hlep man. Take a break, discover what else life has to offer.

Geez a pint wont take you anywhere. It took me a quart of gin a day to stay high and it helps if you don't eat.
When you start passing out and can't remember the day, like I did, you have to quit cause it's gonna kill ya. Guess if I were you, I'd quit while I'm ahead.

You have reached the stage where you have gone beyond habituation to addiction. Your body is now adjusted to the presece of alcohol and the drug no longer gives you the high, just keeps you from having withdrawal symptoms.
Sux to be you. Get help or lose everything and die.

People get paid to drink? That is a new one on me! You sound like an alcoholic to me. Try AA.

Sounds like you are about a few drinks away from an AA meeting.
