I agree with what Anonymous said. THe main difference is that gf/bf are only with each other, but "friends" aren't.

Friends can see other people but they still might hook up. BF/GF you are jus with that person and you don't see other people! You have an emotional relationship!

good question, u can love and b intimate with a friend or a partner, but i would have 2 say making love would b the difference because as a friend u would only have sex with them.

You are friends if you hang out together. If you occasionally go out by yourselves as a couple, you can be said to be "dating."
You are boyfriend and girlfriend when you decide together to remain exclusive--to see only each other, when one of you going out with someone else would then be consider "cheating."
