After He rose from the dead, and ascended into heaven, He will only come back for His bride, at the rapture of His church (I Thessalonians 4:17), meeting them in the air.
After the Great Tribulation, Jesus will come to the earth, to rule and reign. (Revelation 19:11-20:6)
Until that time, Jesus does not return to the earth.
