I bought several items from "Rooms to Go", thus far, everything has been fine. But, I am running into a problem with their delivery policy.

They assigned me a delivery time (note, it was "assigned", I wasn't given a chance to ask for a time) that was inconvenient. When I called to ask them to move the delivery time or reschedule the delivery for the next day, I was told that if I couldn't be home at the assigned time, I would have to wait over 2 weeks before I would get my furniture! Basically, they would give my furniture to someone else and I would have to wait for my order to be refilled.

I understand a lot of this has to do with inventory control, but when you have spent a couple of thousand on a piece of furniture AND paid for the cost of delivery, it seems they could be a little more flexible.

I did a google search on "'rooms to go' deliver problems" and found many pages of complaints. It sounds like I got off easy, but all of the stories have a recuring theme. The in-store experience is good, but the real problems are the delivery system and that the local stores have no controls/influence to resolve problems. What little customer service they offer after the sale is designed to discourage people from trying to get satisfaction.

Ah... the modern business plan.

we have had NOHTING but bad experieinces with RTG delivery! with our home their assigned delivery turned into an ALL DAY waiting game, another time their next day delivery turned into next week, and THEN my poor uncle had the worst time... they ordered an eniter living room suite. RTG was EXTREMELY later then the scheduled time, then when movign the couch and loveseat into the house THEY (the delivery men) ripped the couch and wanted to complain about taking it back and getting them a new one. the argument went on forever and then when they finnaly agreed to take the soafa back right then they told my uncle that it would be possibly 2-4 weeks to get the replacement. i really HATE RTG and i will never buy furniture from them again if i can help it!

We have bought a number of things from them. We had a similar problem where they delivery date was not good but iif we did not take it we would have to wait 2 weeks for another date. We also bought a entertainment unit from them that had a broken drawer and took the two months and three tries to get it right. They did however give us a $125 store credit for this problem.
