My Boyfriend will be movig in with me in a few months, and he has a half lab half pitt dog. About 2yrs old. The dog is extremely hyper never sits still and humps eveyrthing and everybody. So I was woundering lets say we cant get him fixed right away but will whenever we have the money, Do you think he might calm down with age? and maybe stop humping strangers?? I really love the dog but dont want to bring him to my house since he really isn't trained and is so jumpy (especially for a big dog)

This is a dog in desperate need of a human to be his pack leader. This dog should be neutered as soon as possible and both you and your boyfriend have to take control and be this dog's pack leader immediately and consistently.

A dog doesn't need to be hyper - does he get enough exercise? A minimum of 1 1/2 hours per day walking? Does anyone play ball or frisbee with him?

He sounds like a dog who needs help - please read "Cesar's Way" by Cesar Millan. He's worked with thousands of dogs who needed rehabilitating and can help you become the person in charge.

The only way to correct this problem is to have the dog fixed. It should cost you less than $100. After 2 1-2 years, if you haven't had $100 to get your dog fixed, you should give him away to a loving home that has enough money to properly provide for him.

He will slow down but fix him and train him. You must work with him 1 hr/ day minimum. Try to get a book from Cesar Milian.( the dog whisperer)

You both need to get control over your dog. He is showing dominant behavior. It is not horny and will not go away when he is neutered.

Let him no without misunderstanding you are boss and that is absolutely not allowed by giving him a quick tug on his leash when he does this.

You want him to be a part of your family and home, not a nuisance that has to be caged when friends come over.

He won't stop until you get him fixed. If money is an issue, you can take him to their the humane society or the SPCA, and they will fix your dog for free.

More then likley not. Get him "fixed". My wife and I have a black lab / chow. Same problem, humped everything. Got the "fix" now he is fine.

Yeah, check the local SPCA...they will do it at reduced cost or free, or can refer you to a low cost spay and neuter program. Having him neutered will solve the humping problem quickly.

My dogs is widely used with my sons call. I ask her to locate Oskar and he or she runs to him. that's probable because he's purely slightly one and that i'm continuously saying his call, and were at domicile many of the day so she's listening to me call his call plenty :)

The longer you wait, the more problems you'll have. Get him fixed. Put it on your credit card......it'll be worth the interest. (poor guy doesn't know what to do with all that.......energy)
