Get chicken liver..cut off 1/2 lobe, and cut that piece in two...poke a hole in one piece, and slip in the pill...give him the other peice, and follow quickly with the piece with the pill....This works when nothing else will....
Your dog shouldn't have too much liver, so use the heart, or gizzard as well...don't give him any extra liver, just becasue he wants more..Feed it raw..it is safe..
Your vet clinic or pet supply will have a dog pill pusher..it pushes the pill way back in the mouth so he can't spit it out..Not fun, as you have to force hold you dog..but they work...
I have always had perfect results with the chicken livers...

Using a smaller pipette (simular to a turkey baster) or just use that (you can pick up one just for him) Put a small amount of water in the baster. Have a treat handy. Put the pill (broken into small pieces small enough to get threw the tip...and sqweeze
the baster slowly into his mouth then quickly give him his treat so then he's not focused on the water and what little pieces might be in it but on the treat instead. You can also put peanut butter with the broken pieces in it and wipe that on the roof of his mouth...that way he has to eat it. Then give him a treat to get any of the remaining icky pill taste off of him palate...some pills taste worse than others!

Hide the pill(s) in a little bit of peanut butter. The dog will love it and the minor amount of additional protein per day shouldn't hurt the dog. However, if your dog has any dietary restrictions, consult your Veterinarian before using the peanut butter.

Cream Cheese worked for me with my bulldogs.
I had some luck with digging middle of hot dog out putting in pill and then replacing hot dog insides.
Cream cheese easier!
Good Luck!

Put the pill in a small chunk of raw meat, such as steak or ground round! I do it all the time with my dogs, they never suspect they are eating there meds!

I went through the same thing with my dog. THere is a product called "Pill Pockets" that is available at your vet's office and online. It's a beef-flavored or chicken-flavored product that you put the pill inside. It worked like a charm for me.

Well if it is really important that he have the pills, you'll have to put them down his throat. Open his mouth and drop them as far back as you can then hold his muzzle shut until he swallows.

You'll have to put them down his throat. Tip his head up, open his mouth, put the pill on his tongue as far back as you possibly can, then stroke his throat to encourage him to swallow. Be as gentle as you can and he'll probably get used to it. One of my greyhounds is a very dainty eater so I can't hide her pills in anything. She gets glucosamine everyday and that's how I have to give it to her. She never fights me, stands quietly and swallows.
Good luck!
