I wouldn't recommend swimming until the skin clears up. It's possible to not only spread the condition through accidental contact, but the lesions are less likely to heal if exposed to either chlorinated water in a pool, or contaminated water in a lake. And by the way, honey, it's poison ivy, not ivory.

If you have any sores it's not safe at all to go swimming. Blood-born pathogens can get into your body, so aids, staph, hep, all kinds of stuff like that would be something to think about. How bad you wanna go swimming?

u mean poisen ivy? why yes, if you get poisen ivy and then jump in the pool right after its actually better, becuz the clhorine in the pool helps fight the infection that causes rashes and itching to go away. so jump in the pool buddy you will feel better! but if the poisen ivy got on u awhile ago(days) then i dont recomend it, just use cream and stay out of the sun to make sure it dosent worsen.

As long as you have washed the affected area and it isn't spreading, yes, you can. If you have not cleaned the area and/or it is still spreading, you may want to hold off on swimming.
