I guess it all depends on the kid and the family. My daughter has been getting high lights in her hair since she was 5. But that is mostly because she has really curly hair and the high lights relax her hair so that it is more manageable

Sure, my daughter was not doing so well in school and I asked her what she wanted really bad...she said she wanted light pink highlights in her hair. I said ok, if you bring up your grades. She got all A's and I gave her the highlights. She is 9.

Its okay, but I think you have to be ready. Also, my little neighbor has them (age 4). If you want any good hair coloring try the links below. Or do it at a salon. Hope they work. I'm 12 too. I like my hair how it is, but I suggest the new product from granier fructis multi colored hair.

Of course, I'm ten and I have had highlights. Right now I have my whole head dyed a different color just dont use bad products like sun-in I used it and it destroys the ends of your hair and it turned my hair into a really bad orange color.Just use normal hair dye!:)

I think this is WAY too young or a girl to be changing her hair. If at 13 or over (Jr. high school) you wanted to use a little "Sun-In" or put a few highlights in your hair, have it professionally done so you won't ruin your hair or have it break off on you!

I could NOT take my daughter asking for all kinds of grown women treatments until.... she's gonna be turning 14 and I think it's going to be okay then. In my opinion, 12 is too soon. Stick with your natural beauty or think about asking for one of those twisty stick hair color things they have a commercial for on TV.

I would say yes,its the slutty clothes and clown make up that can wait.make sure they look like the sun put them there not big white tacky chunky highlights,those look stupid on everyone.

yeah when i was 11 i started to get blond highlights just for fun, but i would really like to die my hair a different color like blue or somthing or maybe green.
