The problem here is that this guy came up with this story fit for the Sopranos as to why he is became $40,000 in debt, his car repossed, and hasn't paid back taxes to the state of California since 2001 amounting to about $10,000. I was willing to help him work out a payment plan with California given my profession, but the guy became so nonchalant about it and could careless, then would lie as to why he hasn't done anything and yet he was talking marriage with me. I like to think that I give people the benefit of the doubt, but I don't want to lose everything I worked for because some guy is looking for a sugar momma to take care of him. Moreover, he would hardly ever pay when we would go out and then use the excuse he didn't have any money or it my idea. When I decided to take my Mom to this $250 a ticket show instead of him because my Mom hasn't done anything special since my Dad passed away last year, the guy went balistic and told me I should have discussed it with him first.

Although that that person can probably turn it around, I would start asking some real questions about how it ended up like that. Sometimes people get sick and get buried in medical bills and bankruptcy is the only way out. Other times people live beyond their means, in which case it won't be too long until it is happening again.

Sure, there should be no issue with dating them, now on the other hand, I'm not sure I'd be quick to jump into marriage with them until they had better control over their finances first, and also got their credit back into shape again. Your question has inspired me to ask one of my own now... Good luck on your answer!

I could care less about my girl's financial situation, as long as she looks good, that's what's important to me.

Love is blind. If it matters too much to you, then it's not love, and you should be looking elsewhere.
