I suggest you ALWAYS start with your regular doctor. As many have said a chiropractor might be appropriate to see...but depending on what's causing your back pain, a chiropractor may do more damage than good.

Your doctor will be able to direct you to safe, effective, APPROPRIATE treatment.

Go to a normal doctor first, chiropractors tend to cause more damage more often than they actually help. They may be able to make you feel better temporarily, sometimes, but in the end you end up with more damage than you would have had had you just ignored the problem entirely. No amount of the work a chiropractor can do will help if what you really need is surgery of some sort, which is generally the case.

If you can tell the pain is intense and not stress related you might want to go to an Orthopedist / Traumatologist, otherwise you should go to a chiropractor or have a massage done.

Describe your symptoms to your primary care doctor who can determine what kind of specialist will help you the most. I would think a chiropractor.

Chiropractor! Go there first and they will try to help you in a non-invasive and non-drug approach. Find a good chiropractor-I swear by mine!
