I'm extremely short-sighted, at a relatively young age. While I realize some macular-degeneration is probably inevitable with aging, how to I improve my eye-sight, or maintain my current eye-sight? Are there proven exercises? (Answer with link will get my 10 points.)

Nothing that I know of is "proven" short of glasses or corrective surgery to assist with near sightedness. Some links that may prove beneficial for you are listed below...

Not trying to be too funny, but being short sighted is another issue. I'm often short-sighted and neglect to think long term.

You have misread what teh site said. Glasses do not "treat" your eyesight, they just let you see properly. Wearing or not wearing glasses doesn't make your eyesight better or worse it just helps you to see so wear them when you are struggling to see. It is not trute that laptops , video games, tv etc cause you to be nearsighted That is a total myth with no evidence ot support it. Short sight is about teh shape of your eyeball which changes as you grow and typically it gets worse. there is nothing you can do to make suer your eyes dont' get worse or to get them better. If there was then nnoone would wear glasses/contacts. These days though glasses are better and contacts are brilliant. There is also the possible option of lasik surgery when you are in your twenties. Look into contacts if your parents can afford them.

I don't know of any exercises but I do know of some vitamins. My mom has been taking them for a couple of years and she went from wearing trifocles to only needing her glasses to read. They are called Ocu-vite Extra. She noticed improvements within 1 year.
