yes you are right sir!! black magic is the one consumer reports rated # 1. now that being said i go by my own experience with products and i find meguiars to be an excellent product and was named consumer reports #1 2 years ago. turtle wax was #2. the real expensive waxes like mothers gold arent worth the premium price you pay.

I use mother's carnuba wax, and it is fantastic. It is a little more expensive than turtle wax, but you have to wax less often with carnuba wax (it lasts longer) and it looks slightly better. If you got a little extra money, the best way to go is to use fibreglass boat wax. I know it sounds crazy, but it has amazing shine, lasts the entire summer (it is made for use in water, so it doenst wear off quickly) and a bottle cost me like $15.00. I have an orange dodge, and it keeps my car looking great. No, it will not hurt your paint. I use it, my boss uses it on his infinity, and other people i know use it. Good luck, send pics after you wax it!

Worked in a parts store part time for several years through college:

Turtle Wax Platinum - I use it and its great.
Mequires - Excellent Brand

Best if used with a buffer, but just be careful not to scratch. Two coats to get the missed spots.

Try New Finish(orange bottle). They claim once a year waxing and works well on old finishes, really brings them back to life.

Consumer Reports rated a wax as the best.... if only I could remember which one. I think it was Black Magic. It was a black and red bottle.

Meguires or Mother's. THey are the best two. I personally use Meguire's but i've got a black 4X truck. The Mother's might mork for the lighter color being yellow.
