How-You have to study pretty damn hard

Where- If you are refering to US schools, I suggest AirForce, Navy or MIT, Embri Riddle, Texas A&M.

how long- Well, if you want to get somewhere in the field and have some recognition, you need to atleast have a Masters.

I'm a bit confused by the wording of your question, are you asking where is a good college to learn about aeronautical engineering? If so, then Purdue University has one of the best programs for that in the entire country. If you plan to actually pilot shuttles and such one day for NASA, then you should probably first get an aeronautical engineering degree and then join the Air Force as a pilot, as most NASA pilots are former Air Force pilots.

I would look into the Cal Poly system in CA. You need at least a Bachelors Degree.
